Space, dimensions & planning
A regulation pickleball court is 20' x 44'. For a real backyard build we recommend a full pad of 30' x 60', with 34' x 64' preferred where the lot allows. Beyond dimensions, we look at sight lines from your main living areas, orientation to the sun, and how the court integrates with pool decks and outdoor kitchens.

Surface options
The two most common residential surfaces are cushioned acrylic over engineered concrete and modular sport tile. Cushioned acrylic delivers a quieter, more tournament-like feel and is easier on knees; modular tile installs faster, forgives minor slab imperfections, and can be relocated. We'll walk through both honestly based on how you'll actually use the court.
Drainage, sub-base & grade
North Texas clay soils and heavy rain events will destroy a court that was poured on unprepared ground. Every build includes proper sub-base preparation, positive slope across the surface, and perimeter drainage tied into your yard drainage plan where needed.
Fencing, lighting & game lines
Black powder-coated perimeter fencing with rebound mesh keeps the court looking sharp and stays HOA-friendly. Residential-grade LED court lighting adds real evening play hours without spilling onto neighboring homes. Game-line striping is precision-taped and painted, with dual line colors when you want combined pickleball and basketball play.

Common questions
Regulation play area is 20' x 44'. A total pad of 30' x 60' is comfortable; 34' x 64' is preferred for real run-off. Smaller pads still work for casual play.
